I called them that because they fly off the plate and into your mouth because they are so good! They are not spicy, unless you want them to be and they can be vegetarian if you want them to be – and all at once!
Confused? Yes, Mr. Picky Eater says I can do that to people. I will just go with the recipe and you be the judge.

Ingredients:

1 ½ pound hamburger
3 medium potatoes
Olive oil to cover frying pan
A little chopped onion (optional)
8 large tortillas

15. If Mr. Picky Eater didn’t like it – I made some more of those Crock Pot rolls so he could have Ham Biscuits instead but he really liked them a lot!

    Happy Valentines Day!

    • Thank you – they are so good! This was really a practice run for a copy cat recipe I’m going to try soon – I think it’s going to turn out fantastic – but I wanted to use a cheaper set of food to try it – now I’ll use the more expensive cuts. No peppers probably!

  2. Stacy says:

I love a burrito, flying or otherwise! Jalapeños would be a must at our house, for everyone! And as for the thank you – not necessary – but you are most welcome! I just call ‘em like I see ‘em!

I would love these, probably with more onions.

    • Lillian – EXACTLY! I wanted more onion because I love it – My husband laughs and says I eat more onion than anyone he’s ever known – so I try to lay off the onion sometimes! :)

Mmm, potatoes, cheese and hamburger meat! I like how it’s kind of like a deconstructed cheeseburger!

My oh my oh my! I would definitely scarf a couple of these down in no time. Great idea! Thanks for being our first linkup at Weekend Potluck today. =) Enjoy a great weekend.

  6. Nice! Hold the peppers for me (I’m a wuss) and serve ‘em up!

These look delicious! You could also use sausage instead of hamburger and add some scrambled eggs to make breakfast flying burritos! Om nom nom!

We had a Flying Burrito restaurant here (for a while—I think it has closed). But I love the title of these.

    • Is that where I remember the name from? I honestly thought it was the name of a band from the 70′s or so, but maybe it was a place over there………..I’m working on a recipe that I’m trying to copy from Big Truck Tacos – have you ever been there? If so, it’s called the Rancher. If not, you have to go there next time you are in OKC. It’s on NW 23rd. If you like interesting hot dogs, Mutt’s down the street from them is a must as well – I have the Duck dog with duck fat fries – my mouth is watering just thinking about them all!
